GHEE
Authentic small batch ghee from the hills to your home. Freshly churned from the milk of pahadi indigenous (desi) cows. The Badri cow from Uttarakhand gives only one to three litres of milk daily. These cows graze freely at high elevation and within Himalayan bugyal's. Their daily diet consists of wild grass, natural vegetation, medicinal plants, flowers and Himalayan spring water. Our ghee has been sourced from the Himalayan villages located in the catchments of Malan and Nayar rivers of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Nayar, also called Narad Ganga which rises in the dense forests and high meadows of Dudhatoli mountain range. This landscape is said to be the abode of sage Charak, one of the principal contributors to Ayurveda. The ghee is handmade traditionally and as the cow gives little milk, it is a combined effort of several households within the village. The Badri cow's milk contains 90% A2 beta-casein proteins, which is the highest of any indigenous breed, making the ghee truly a gift from nature. Excellent for cooking & sautéing, because it is a short-chained fatty acid, it has a high smoke point & thus doesn’t create carcinogenic free radicals when brought to a high heat. This means it’s one of the safest fats to cook with.
