Our internal assessment system p+ (positive), ensures that all our products are planet, plant & people positive.

It’s not easy, at many times it means having to give up on certain products or formulations that do not pass our internal p+ assessment.

It is our responsibility to set a standard and maintain a walk the talk approach towards the conscious selection of raw materials.

The beauty & wellness is one of the biggest polluters on the planet generating mountains of plastic waste, this comes at an unseen cost, Carbon.

As human’s we are 100% guilty of this, we are constantly failing to address these small issues around us & the cost of the frenzy is evident with the changing climate and dwindling wildlife around us.

Taking charge at a micro level has never been more important than now, therefore it is imperative for us to act individually & as a community before it is too late.

How do we do this?
What is the p+ approach?

Our formulations are made using green chemistry along with the most advanced & sustainable energy efficient technologies including biotechnology & bio-based ingredients.

The processing methods that we choose to utilise are zero or low impact to plant, planet or people with low carbon footprint. Small yet impactful changes in our beauty & wellness regimen are the first sensibly positive steps which we can take for long term sustainable results.

In our aim to offer you the best possible beauty & wellness products.

We first look at the ingredient’s carbon footprint, the source, and the kind of transport it entails to get the product to us, how it is processed from raw material to the finished product for us to use in our formulations. Next the packaging, how can we minimize any packaging that is not recyclable, compostable or 100% biodegradable. At times it means giving up on packaging that would look amazing but isn’t so amazing for the planet. Our minimalist packaging design reflects our ethos.

We are constantly working on more sustainable options for our packaging that would also be good for the planet, yet attractive and compelling for our loyal customer base.

Soil health the world over is degrading, the pesticide residue in most natural beauty & wellness products are alarming. This is one of the main aspects that is ignored by most, also one of the main reasons many Indian ayurvedic and natural products don’t find a place outside Indian borders. Most herbs are grown in soil that is ridden with pesticides and chemicals that have been leached into the soil, resulting in heavy metal and pesticide residue in the final product. What’s not good for the plant, is not good for the soil and in turn definitely not good for you. All our raw materials are COSMOS certified & pesticide free. We encourage and work with our farmer partners to ensure that only natural farming methods are practiced and there is no use of any chemical or pesticides in the cultivation process. All raw material batches are tested by our partner lab to ensure that it is free from undesirables.

The most important piece of the puzzle, we are constantly updating and educating ourselves on elements that are not safe for humans to use over time. From the farmers that provide clean raw materials to our Vaidyas, botany experts and the end consumer, we ensure that traceability and transparency is key. Our products do not contain any potentially carcinogenic ingredients including parabens, sulphate, artificial fragrances, SLS, SLES or artificial colours. All our ingredients are COSMOS certified or grown naturally by traditional farmers & we are constantly expanding our research to ensure all of our formulations are safe for you to use.

A classic example of the shiny object syndrome is MICA, you know the substance that makes you shimmer like 1000 stars in the night sky?

Many brands claim that they use sustainable MICA in their formulations, however that claim is far-fetched, mining of MICA is as ugly as it gets.

Most MICA that is used comes from artisanal mining

which is small scale mining.

India (Jharkhand & Bihar) is the leader of MICA production in the world where worker (mainly adivasis) exploitation & child labour is rampant.

The health & safety risks, lung ailments, broken bones are just not worth all the shimmer it holds, at least until these serious concerns are not addressed for real.

Our internal assessment system helps us ensure that the people behind our amazing products are cared for.
